Peer Reviewers Information Pack
-
For each discipline, there are generally at least a minimum of 20+ peer reviewers.
There is no fixed quota/commitment of work for each reviewer.
If one reviewer is not available, the next on the list is offered the project.
We realize that each reviewer will not be able to work full time nor wants to work full time.
Therefore, the work is AD-HOC with no commitments.
Most of our reviewers are senior members of the O&G community, who are retired or independent consultants, this flexibility, is very important to them.
-
Peer Reviewers must be retired, or independent consultants or employed by an education institution.
If the reviewers are working for any other O&G related company, a NDA between the employer of the reviewer and Peer-Reviewers.org must be signed.
We rarely allow a reviewer currently working for ANY O&G company to perform peer reviewing work for us. (2%). We do make some exception when we believe the reviewer has a undisputed integrity and character.
Generally, its not possible to have a reviewer currently working for an O&G company to be totally independent or influenced by the client.
This is the "PEER REVIEW BY CONSULTING COMPANIES SYNDROME".
As a consulting company or client, you are always influenced by the client and possible future work, consequently, a consulting company performing a peer review will be inherently biased.
-
Many reviewers have specific requirements regarding their identity disclosure to the client.
As this is a strict "double blind review', The client has no information as to the identity of the reviewer and the reviewer does not have information regarding the client.
An mutually agreed NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) is signed between the client and peer-reviewers.org
An identical NDA is signed between peer-reviewers.org and the reviewers for each project.
All references to the client and location is removed by the client from their project documents.
All references to the reviewer will be removed from the reviewers CV
We are strict with this procedure for three reasons:
**Protection of client sensitive information,
**client influence over the peer reviewers
**and reviewers bias to the client in view of future work.
-
Once the client proposes a peer review project, they will choose the number and disciplines of the peer reviewers based on their needs. We will provide the reviewers CV's that has been brushed clean of any identifying information of the peer reviewers. (verified by the reviewer)
The client will be selecting the reviewers based solely on the experience provided by the CV's
To the Client:
We always recommend at a minimum three reviewers per project.
We also will only provide reviewers that have NEVER worked in the clients organization.
-
Peer reviewers perform their own basic engineering checks for each project they evaluate.
Please note, this is important, we are peer reviewers , NOT consultants.
It is your extensive experience, opinions and recommendations that the client needs. If the client requires additional engineering checks, this will be an additional cost for time and software.
All engineering should have been performed by the client or their consulting companies prior to the peer review. The reviewers can request the client to provide more engineering results for further evaluation.
-
Peer reviewer will be compensated once the client as approved the certificate of project completion.
This means the work is complete and no further questions of the review is required.
Payment is 45 days from the receipt of certificate of completion.
Compensation schedule
